ELECTRICAL ENGINEER-IN-TRAINING (EIT)
SENIOR ARCHITECT
We are seeking a Senior Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, proficient at inter-office collaboration and passionate about leading architectural projects. As a valued team member, you’ll take on key responsibilities as you guide design teams, collaborate with Project Managers and other disciplines, lead construction administration activities and support business development efforts, all while maintaining strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform investigations, analyses, reports, studies, scopes, cost estimates, technical documentation and design tasks for various architectural projects.
- Present technical and design solutions directly to clients.
- Plan design development and construction drawings.
- Supervise and lead design teams, ensuring successful execution of project plans.
- Inspect and perform evaluations in the field.
- Assist with projects from inception to completion, collaborating with project leadership to develop technical solutions and oversee design delivery.
- Oversee project components and workflows, organize cost estimates, and manage bid preparation to align with client requirements and budget constraints.
- Review work delegated to team members while providing mentorship to junior architects and designers.
- Affix your professional seal to final documents and drawings, assuming responsibility for the accuracy of others.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Possess in-depth knowledge of architectural trends, laws, codes, zoning laws, standards, and fire regulations.
- Apply technical information, codes, and standards to the planning, review, and design of projects.
- Proficient in interpreting and understanding information from other disciplines, integrating architectural design with other disciplines, and skilled at fostering effective coordination across teams.
- Ability to lead and work collaboratively with team members to deliver projects on tight schedules, ensuring deadlines are met within time and budget constraints.
- Effectively coordinate, perform, and complete multiple duties and assignments concurrently and in a timely manner.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to present effectively to clients.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in architecture from a NAAB-accredited institution.
- 10+ years of professional experience in architecture.
- Licensed Architect in the U.S. with the ability to obtain reciprocity in Virginia within six (6) months of employment.
- LEED Certification.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (AutoCAD), Revit, Sketchup, and other architectural and typical tools and programs.
- Proficient in responding to permit & code-related comments, or associated comments with written responses.
- Possess a strong work ethic.
- Possess a valid U.S. driver’s license.
Physical Requirements:
This position is primarily office-based, with occasional travel to client offices, production facilities, or construction job sites. Candidate must be able to meet the following demands:
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, reach, climb, stoop, or kneel as needed to perform project site inspections and other responsibilities associated with the position.
- Ability to climb ladders, access tight spaces, crawl, reach, lift 25 lbs., or perform other activities relative to project site investigations.
- Specific vision requirements including close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to discern colors accurately may be required to see detail drawings and constructions.

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER-IN-TRAINING (EIT)
We are seeking a motivated Electrical Engineer-In-Training to join our team. This role involves a variety of engineering tasks related to design, construction, report preparation, review, and inspection of electrical projects. You will work under the guidance of a seasoned Electrical Engineer, who will assign tasks, provide direction, and review your work to ensure it aligns with industry standards and best practices. Depending on workload demands, you may also be temporarily assigned more technical duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform layout, drafting, and design work on routine projects using computer software.
- Design and prepare contract plans.
- Prepare and review engineering plans, reports, studies, and related documents.
- Develop scopes, cost estimates, specifications, and special provisions.
- Review development projects for compliance with relevant regulations and meet with project applicants to resolve issues.
- Investigate customer concerns and recommend corrective actions.
- Assist in the inspection and evaluation of structures, ensuring compliance with established inspection programs.
- Carry out other related duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency in higher-level mathematics (trigonometry, algebra, geometry, calculus) for surveying and engineering computations.
- Knowledge of physics, statistics, dynamics, and electrical engineering standards.
- Awareness of current trends and developments in engineering, with the ability to stay updated.
- Ability to learn and apply relevant laws, ordinances, and regulations.
- Ability to adapt to engineering information, codes, and standards to various project stages.
- Strong analytical skills for collecting and evaluating technical information and developing logical solutions.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) systems and other relevant software.
- Ability to prepare, interpret, and utilize engineering plans, maps, and reports.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines.
Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited college or university with major coursework in electrical engineering or a closely related field OR registration as an Engineer-In-Training OR four years of progressively responsible electrical engineering experience.
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
